Shining Stars awards 2017

For Outstanding Service-for Lisa Rogers whose service and dedication is truly inspiring. Lisa always works hard to make sure that the service runs as well as it can, she always gets involved in promoting the organization, volunteers for events and is available for a chat whenever. Lisa has worked here for many years and has always been a professional and empathetic ear no matter what your role in the organization is.

Team Work-for the team who has demonstrated a fantastic commitment. These 4 members of staff, Ami Turner, Tracey McCarron, Gary Nicklin, and Nathan Prince (along with a few of their family members), pulled together to enable a group of our service users to access The Wellington Centre for food, drink, laughs and entertainment on Christmas Day. Many service users would have been on their own. The Christmas Day Tea Team organized funding from a local business, they prepared the food, they organized a live singer(!) and they picked up service users to get them to the building and even delivered takeaways to those who either weren't able to get there or wanted to stay in their home. Thank you, Christmas Day Tea Team!!!

Extra Mile-Rachel Tilley who really makes a difference and goes above and beyond. Rachel recently went the 'extra mile' and drove to Wales, last minute, one evening to collect a client and bring them home. Not only did she not know the client, she willingly stepped up to support ADM. Completely deserved!

Unsung Hero-Lauren Smith for the individual who works tirelessly behind the scenes to help. Lauren always helps people, she greets customers and clients in a friendly manner, she problem solves and is willing to help anyone who needs it. She tries to deliver a good customer experience to those that use the building and she has great respect for our clients, always treating them with respect and understanding.

Shining Star-Connor Hyde for the individual who really brightens up your day. Connor is very helpful to people who are new, he lifts people up, has a positive attitude, is liked by the clients and staff alike. He has a smile for everyone he meets and he makes stressful days fun.

Purple Leaf-Mark Goodson

This award is picked personally by Chris Dixon. It is an award he chooses personally. Chris Dixon posted

"Deciding the recipient of this award is always a difficult decision. So many of our staff give of themselves and their time from across the organization. Each year it is a difficult choice, however, this year I have gone for someone who not only delivers high-quality support for ADM but also in his full-time job is in my mind a Hero. As a full-time fireman, Mark Goodson was involved in the fire response to the Grenfell fire in London. We all saw the images on TV of the horrific incident for the residents, and those that passed away, and the risk that firemen faced whilst both putting out the fire but also searching the Tower Block for survivors. I would like to say thank you on behalf of @AndoverMencap and those in London you helped.

Absolutely anyone can nominate a staff member or a volunteer for an award; service users, their families or carers, supporters, volunteers, and colleagues. This makes our awards special because the appreciation comes from all of us in the ADM community.
