Andover and District Mencap are currently seeking to recruit Clubs Manager to oversee a range of inclusive clubs and activities which cater to adults and children with learning disabilities.

About us:

Andover and District Mencap (ADM) is an independent, not for profit, charity supporting and advocating for adults and children with learning disabilities and their families and carers. We work with our members, their families and carers in the local community, to enable people with learning disabilities to lead independent lives.

The Role:

As our Clubs Manager you will be responsible for overseeing our clubs and activities to ensure that they are accessible, safe and engaging for our members and clients. You will be responsible for the management of the Club Leaders and Volunteers and will provide them with guidance to ensure that the sessions they are delivering are of a consistently high quality.

The main responsibilities of your role will include:

  • Plan and lead the provision of appropriate programmes of activity and the short break service which includes grant tendering
  • Deliver a range of high quality social activities which reflect the needs of the participants.
  • Be responsible for the conduct and safety of participants whilst overseeing the provision of activity sessions.
  • Undertake a variety of administration tasks to effectively monitor and evaluate delivery of the activity program.
  • Maintain a safe environment and be aware of all Health & Safety policies and ensure that all accidents, incidents and near misses are recorded accurately and reported.
  • Report any safeguarding issues and follow the established policies and procedures.

What you’ll need:

The successful candidate will have experience of managing a team and will have a good working knowledge of the EYFS framework. You will need to have experience in planning activities and any previous experience of working with individuals with learning disabilities would be an advantage.

Excellent communication skills are essential together with a good level of knowledge of Microsoft Office packages including Excel, Word and Outlook.

Flexibility of working hours is crucial for this role in order to meet the needs of the department.
