#What I bring to my community on World Down Syndrome Day

Wednesday, March 21st is World Down Syndrome Day. They are asking every person with Down's syndrome to tell the world 'what you bring to your community.' One young man, Jonathon Hall, brought something very precious to his community. He brought change, but not only change but dignity, choice and independence for many learning disabled adults.

Tasty Tea Break Treats for Purple day

On March 23rd, Victoria Cheshire, volunteer at Andover and District Mencap, is holding a purple tea break at The Wellington Centre to raise awareness for 'Purple day.' You can pop into Room 1 between 10 and 1 for a cup of tea, a purple cupcake and a nice break.

Let's celebrate International Wheelchair day!

International Wheel Chair (IWD) day was founded by Wheelchair Steve Wilkinson. It is now 10 years old and is celebrated Internationally. The day was first launched in 2008, and now celebrations have taken place in Australia, Nepal, Senegal, South Africa, Bangladesh, Pakistan, United Kingdom and the United States of America.
